“Facebook Connect is the next evolution of Facebook Platform — enabling you to integrate the power of Facebook Platform into your own site.”
http://wiki.developers.facebook.com/index.php/Facebook_Connect
FB-Connect is doing great things for developers everywhere like me. Now I can expand the audience of my blog a lot easier to all my friends listed on my Facebook Profile. Just press the connect button on the right hand side of the page, enter your Facebook details and leave a comment please. Any random thing will do!
Just a word of notice, I have no way of storing your email or password, in case you were wondering…
Good stuff man, really good stuff;)
Is Facebook Connect valid XHTML?
Check your blog’s source and you’ll see that it is not.
The question now is, who cares about XHTML validation?
Hmm, that’s interesting that you mentioned that now Joe. Using FB-Connect does make my site fail the validation test because of the nested tags.
I think that xHTML validation has recently started to become a sketchy thing. The reason I say that is because I think the web is in the middle of another traditional era, Web 3.0 if you will. CSS3/HTML5 are just around the corner of being the standard on the web and then xHTML validation will be going in a different direction with rules, etc. What do you think?
